2000 - Washington (USA)
The United Nations Global Compact took place as the largest corporate social responsibility
initiative in the world.

2001 - Cleveland (USA)
David Cooperrider creates the BAWB - Business as an Agent of World Benefit - soon
after the terrorist attack of Sept. 11. A group meeting in Baltimore decided to create a movement to guide the business as
agents of benefit to the world.
.: 2004 - Washington (USA)
Kofi Annan calls David Cooperrider to coordinate a meeting
of 500 business leaders who met for two days in the UN headquarters in New York, for the construction of the development plan
of the Global Compact. It was concluded that education is a priority between the UN strategic actions and that it is
essential to align the academic education of the executives with the principles of Global Compact.
.: 2006 - Cleveland (USA)
The
first Global Forum, organized by Case Western Business School, comprises 400 business leaders and representatives of academia
from 40 countries, in addition to thousand participants through the Internet.
The event promoted the identification of areas of cooperation between business and academia to
promote effective action for a sustainable world. They met various initiatives (Call for Action), including the creation
of regional meetings on the initiative of local staff.
Results:

Production of 400 scientific papers and corporate reports.
• Transformation in the international movement through
regionalization of similar events.
• Creation of task force for development of the six Principles for Responsible
Management in Education.

2008 - Curitiba (Brazil)
Rodrigo da Rocha Loures, President of the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná - FIEP, promotes the
BAWB - Global Forum Latin America. A total of 14 Brazilian states and five countries were represented. The event brought
together 1,300 participants for three days of talks, guided by the research methodology of Appreciative Inquiry.
The
FIEP, through its Industrial University (Unindus) and EAESP/FGV, held the Global Forum, with the facilitation guidance of
Case Western Reserve University. As an ongoing process, the first meeting was held in July in Curitiba - the “Call
for Action Curitiba” (the first call to action of GFAL).
